Update #10: Wrangling the Corduroy Bags
Hey friends,
We’re doing our best to get our hands on the Corduroy Bags but the shipping company handling our shipment is really dropping the ball.
As you may have read in our last blog, delivery was attempted two weeks ago. Wednesday last week we were finally contacted by the company to coordinate the delivery, a mandatory courtesy which we were not afforded the first time. It’s taken so long to attempt redelivery because the shipment was (unrightfully) shipped back to Vancouver to be returned to our manufacturer after one unsuccessful delivery attempt to the wrong address. Thankfully, we intercepted it in time and have been working with the freight forwarder to have it redelivered.
They assure us that the shipment will not be returned to our manufacturer but we are still trying to coordinate a successful delivery and have not yet received the bulk shipment. They keep telling us, "The driver will load the shipment tonight and deliver tomorrow", yet 'tomorrow' has come a few times now and they still haven't delivered the bags.
Our next step is to gather the shipment information from the freight forwarder and provide it to a local freight forwarder (vetted by our warehouse owner) to take over last-mile delivery. This will require the cooperation of the current freight forwarder, so fingers crossed.
