We’ve never held on to a line for so long, but much like tea, it’s better fully steeped. Tea-based puns aside, putting this pre-order out doesn’t just mean that we can finally get this line from our hearts to your hands, it’s bigger than that! We never expected to have to deal with a global trade war when starting our brand, and while we’ve faced crises before, it’s never threatened us like this. Being able to release Teahouse marks the storm-clouds breaking, letting a little sunshine in on what was once a gloomy outlook. Things are looking brighter, so let’s raise our teacups and cheers to brighter days, and a wonderful Teahouse launch!

tl;dr

  • Open to Americans: Yes, we’re shipping to the US again. See the section at the very bottom of this post for more info.
  • Teahouse Pre-Order: Launches June 6th, ends June 20th.
  • Payment: Payment is captured immediately at checkout. PayPal is disabled due to PayPal pre-order policies. Try our new option to pay in installments using Shop Pay in Installments available through checkout.
  • Refunds & Cancellations: Full refunds to your original payment method accepted before June 20th. Refunds after June 20th are for store credit only and open to our discretion.
  • Products:
    • Mini Tees fit true to size as they are very stretchy. The garment measurements can be misleading, so when in doubt, buy your size or one size up if you want a looser fit.
    • Green is the part of the colour spectrum that the human eye sees the most of. This made very slight changes to colour corrections difficult, specifically for the Matcha set. We’ve done our best to represent the colours accurately, but in the process, we noticed colours varied from device to device. The colours are beautiful in person, so don’t stress if you notice minor differences from photo to photo.
    • You may combine your pre-orders with in-stock items. Your entire order will ship together once pre-order items arrive.
  • In-Stock Items: Ships immediately if you only order in-stock items (not Teahouse items); if combined with pre-order items, ships together in Q3-Q4 2025.
  • Timeline:

    • Mid June - Late July: Production
    • Late July - Late August: Shipping

  • Risks: We’ve faced some challenges in past pre-orders, but we’ve always delivered quality products within a reasonable time. There’s always a risk of delays with any pre-order. Please be patient and respectful, we’ll make sure you get your order!
  • Updates: Monthly updates at 12 pm EDT on the first Wednesday of every month on our blog, on socials, and in Discord. Major updates posted as they occur.

The Rules

  • This is a pre-order, the products must be manufactured before we can fulfill them.
  • Delivery is expected in late Q3 - early Q4 2025.
  • Expect delays and don't buy with a specific delivery date in mind (i.e. birthdays, Christmas gifts, etc.)
  • No refunds or cancellations. We will offer store credit on a case-by-case basis. See the section on refunds below for context.
  • Customers outside of Canada and the US must be aware of applicable import charges.
  • Once your order is shipped, if you deny delivery, you are not entitled to a refund of your shipping fee. Restocking fees may also apply.
  • PayPal is disabled due to PayPal policy restrictions; we wish it were different.
  • As of this pre-order launch, you can now use Shop Pay in Installments at no additional cost!
  • You can place a single order for you and your friends to save on shipping but we will not retroactively combine multiple orders.
  • You accept responsibility for deliveries made to an old address if you fail to update your address before fulfillment.
    • Multiple address update reminders will be sent out in advance.
  • Stay up to date by following along with our blog posts.
    • You can always find the most recent update through the Blogs section of our website if you miss any email updates.
    • Some customers find our pre-order updates in spam. If you haven’t received an update in a while, check your spam folder.

Our experience and contingency plans

  • This is our ninth pre-order, past pre-orders have been subject to minor delays.
    • We’ve handled a few crises in our time; all of them worked out. Please be kind and patient, we promise we’ll do right by you in the end!
  • We've worked out a lot of the kinks but there is always room for error and unforeseen circumstances.
  • You will be updated regarding all major timeline changes.
  • Any unforeseen circumstances will be communicated via a blog post, email, and Discord channel updates as they come up.

In-Stock Items

We allow in-stock items to be combined with pre-orders so that you can get the bigger items and save on shipping, rather than having to put in multiple orders. However, please prioritize pre-order items as we need to hit order minimums for production.

If your order includes items with [PRE-ORDER] in the title

Your entire order will ship once the pre-order items are available in late Q3-early Q4 2025. In-stock items do not ship early.

If you order in-stock items without pre-order items Your entire order will ship immediately.

🇺🇸 Exception for US customers 🇺🇸

Your entire order will ship in a few weeks, once we transfer inventory from our Canadian warehouse to our US warehouse. More on the new warehouse at the end of this post.

Refunds

Think of this like a crowdfunding campaign similar to Kickstarter, except we’re hosting it on our own site. You’re here because you’re passionate about Carmico clothing and understand that, with supporting small businesses, some concessions must be made.

We are not Amazon or any other big corporation. Your refunds and cancellations are more than just a number on a year end report. They affect us magnitudes more than the big guys.

In order to make pre-orders work, we take the money you used to pay for your order and we use it to pay for our manufacturers to produce it. This means if you cancel your order, we have spent money on products that are no longer wanted. Finding new people here and there to pick up where you left off isn’t a big deal, but the reason we don’t allow refunds at all is that doing so opens us up to large-scale liability that could seriously damage our business.

If we let one person refund, we have to let everyone refund. So, in the spirit of fairness, original payment method refunds are not allowed for pre-orders. You may cancel for store credit, and you can exchange for other items or sizes while supplies last.

Timeline

If you’ve ever pre-ordered before, this pre-order will be expedited for US customers to get into the US before the 90-day tariff pause ends. So if things look a little different than they usually do, it’s because we’re operating on a tight timeline.

Our lead times are usually 3-4 months without contingencies. We always hope to under-promise and over-deliver, but we’ll be adhering to a strict timeline to ensure US orders are in the US before the tariff pause ends. Our cargo will be entering from the west coast, so it will still take some time to arrive at our warehouses on the east coast. We’re hoping to start fulfilling in September. A little buffer room never hurt!

We do not benefit from delays, so it’s in our best interest for timing estimates to be accurate. If you have any questions or concerns about the timeline, please consult us kindly. We’re more than happy to answer questions!

Risks

There are always challenges with pre-orders, but we like to be as transparent as possible. We’ve learned a lot from all of our pre-orders and hope that this one can go without a hitch.

Some crises we’ve successfully managed

We’ve had to pay tens of thousands of dollars in a ransom deal to receive our Moth Bag pre-order in 2023. It all worked out in the end, but it was three months late and caused us a great deal of stress. Since then, we’ve updated our freight options to have much more control over how our cargo arrives. This should never happen again, but life likes to give us lemons.

We’ve run nine pre-orders before this one. One of them was delayed due to a system migration error, another due to Black Friday fulfillment blackouts from our warehouse. These delays only pushed the timeline by a couple of weeks, but it’s still something to be aware of.

Our new US warehouse

🇺🇸 The important part 🇺🇸

Pre-orders are open for US customers since our new warehouse will be operational by the time we need to fulfill.

We’re just in the process of finalizing our US warehouse but we’re excited to say we’re almost there—we’ll be back to selling in-stock items to US customers within the month! Our decision has been delayed slightly because we’re having a hard time deciding between two exceptional options. Whatever we decide, your orders will be in good hands.

What this means

We paused orders to the US because we were critically aware of the customs fees imparted on US customers due to the revision of Section 321 (the de minimis exemption) in early May, in addition to Trump’s retaliatory tariffs. Retail shippers like UPS are evil and like to charge exorbitant customs brokerage fees in addition to what you would owe in tariffs. Rather than continue to sell to Americans and run the risk of shocking customs fees ruining your experience, we opted to find a US-based warehouse. Tariffs still increase the price of goods (you’ve probably heard the term “inflationary” in the news) but having this US warehouse drastically reduces the impact on you.

We hope to keep Carmico accessible to US customers and we’re excited to have a hub closer to home. In addition to lower tariff impact, you’ll also benefit from faster transit times, easier returns, and some other new perks to be announced.
