Stardust is a spiritual successor to our most popular collection, Starfall.

In addition to a brand new item, we’re bringing in some new dogs with our old tricks! We have a bunch of information about the items after a brief summary of the most important pre-order details below.

tl;dr

• Where you’re from matters
  • Canada - ships domestically from our Canadian warehouse in Mississauga. No import fees.
  • US - ships domestically from our US warehouse in Michigan. No carrier fees.
  • Everywhere else - ships internationally from our Canadian warehouse. Import fees of which you are responsible for paying apply when your shipment enters your country later this year.
• Stardust Pre-Order: Launches December 19th, ends January 2nd. This is a pre-order, the products must be manufactured before we can fulfill them in approximately May-June.
• Payment: Payment is captured immediately at checkout. PayPal is disabled due to PayPal pre-order policies. Canadians can pay in installments using Shop Pay in Installments.
• Returns, exchanges, and cancellations: Items may be returned for store credit, exchanged for other products once they have been delivered to you. Cancellations are only available before January 2nd at 1pm EST when the pre-order window ends.
• Products:
  • Cap-Sleeved Tees fit true to size as they are very stretchy. The garment measurements can be misleading, so when in doubt, buy your size or one size up if you want a looser fit.
  • The blue Boxy Hoodie is the same colour as our Starfall joggers. Since the Starfall blue is a custom colour, the samples we used for photos were a made with an in-stock colour that was much brighter. We’ve edited the colour to represent the colour as accurately as possible, but some of the photos make the blue look a tad iridescent because of the way the stock colour reflected the light. • In-Stock Items: Ships immediately if you only order in-stock items (not Stardust items); if combined with pre-order items, ships together in Q2 2026.

  • Note: don't buy gifts with a specific delivery date in mind as unforeseen delays are always possible.
• Delivery: Once your order is shipped, if you deny delivery or your order is delivered to the wrong address because you did not provide accurate address information, you are not entitled to a refund of your shipping fee. Reships require repayment of another shipping fee. Restocking fees may apply if you choose not to reship.
• Risks: We’ve faced some challenges in past pre-orders, but we’ve always delivered quality products within a reasonable time. There’s always a risk of delays with any pre-order. Please be patient and respectful, we’ll make sure you get your order!
• Updates: Monthly updates emailed at 12 pm EDT on the first Wednesday of every month and posted to this pre-order blog. Major updates posted as they occur. Multiple address update reminders will be emailed, posted on socials, and posted to our blog page before fulfillment begins.
• Restock: We will restock extra quantities of Stardust items once all customers have received their pre-order and had reasonable opportunity to exchange.

Carmico has been around for 5 years and yet this is the first hoodie we’ve made. Selina, our designer, didn’t want to design a hoodie that was like any other. Graphic hoodies feel like a cop-out, and at Carmico, we strive to do things with intention. So our first shot at hoodies incorporated the design into the construction of the sweater itself, much like our Cold-Brew and Matcha sweat sets.

A recent favourite, the Eyes on You Sweater, inspired the construction and designs for the Lunar and Stardust knit sweaters. It’s hard to find comfortable statement pieces, but we’re so happy with the results and feedback we’ve received from our community, they needed knew designs!

Stardust Items

Boxy Hoodie

We all know the only hoodie worth owning is a hoodie that hoodies. This sentiment ultimately lead our design philosophy for the Boxy Hoodie.

We wanted our first foray into hoodies to feel premium rather than taking the easy path with art printed on a standard hoodie design. As an artist-founded apparel brand, we know the art aspect is important for our art-loving community, so the art itself is in the construction and character-driven design of the garment itself. It’s less literal, and we’re excited to be moving more in this direction with the support of our community.

For any hoodie heads out there, here are the specs:
460 gsm (super-heavy weight)
100% cotton

If you’re unfamiliar with fabric weights, gsm means “grams per square meter”. More generally, a higher number means a heavier garment. 460 gsm is on the high end of cotton weights with anything over 450gsm being considered “extra heavyweight” reserved for premium streetwear items. To put it into perspective, the average hoodie is 280-350gsm.

Despite the heavyweight fabric, 100% cotton means the sweater still breathes well. It will keep you warm, but it won’t suffocate you the way synthetics do. In addition to being made of breathable materials, the cut outs act as ventilation. All of our testers and models who have been wearing their copies have been living in the hoodies since receiving them, and they all say the same thing, “it’s cozy in every way, but it doesn’t make me overheat.” We’ll gladly take that as the highest praise. You’re not sacrificing functionality for fashion, it’s all wrapped up in one cozy package.

Knit Sweaters

The Lunar sweater is the first time Selina has converted a physical painting into a garment. She loves physical mediums, but all of her work for Carmico thus far has been hand-drawn digitally.

It didn’t feel right to just take a photo of the moon’s surface and adapt it to a knit pattern, so she painted the surface of the moon in acrylics. The Stardust sweater is less specifically space-themed and more a nod to sense of magic we feel when we look at the sea and stars. With deep, rich blues, and a contrast

Both sweaters are made of a 50-50 cotton-modal blend that is incredibly sturdy, pill-resistant, breathable, and biodegradable. This yarn has been a hit since we started using it in the Eyes on You sweaters. It's hard to describe, but it feels premium without feeling fragile. You can wear, wash, and pack it for travel without much care and it will still show up as beautiful as ever.

The "crop" is very slight, mattering more for taller, leaner folks like our co-founder, Aidan. At 6'6", he sizes up once from 2XL to 3XL to get a little extra length on the body. Dhenzel wears his usual size, and it fits all other models true to size. 

Cap-Sleeve Tees

The key to this piece is its simplicity. We love our showstoppers, but we’re also exploring new ways to bring little razzles and dazzles to more every day items. The cap-sleeve tees are an understated successor to the Starfall mini tees for when you want something a little extra under a more overstated layering piece. You can still feel special when you take off the sweater or jacket without the discomfort of embroidery or the wear and tear of printed graphics.

Again, a cotton base (98%) with a little spandex (2%) added in for a formed fit and extra comfort.

They’re not cropped as much as the Starfall mini tees were, but they are still on the shorter side, showing a little bit of midriff but not too much.

Plus, they pair perfectly with our boleros!

Boleros

We were surprised by how long it took for this one to come around. The Stargazer Sweater is our all-time best seller and all of our boleros have been major successes. So it only made sense to make everyone’s favourite style with the item that’s gaining popularity.

Just as its older sister, the Stargazer Bolero has an exaggerated puff sleeve, but without the bulk of the actual sweater.

The boleros are double knit using a base and contrast yarn chenille where the contrast swoop is pulled through to form the signature, cloud-like puffy design. The yarn is an acrylic-modal blend which is resistant to breakage that causes pilling. The cotton thread star pattern is embroidered onto the garment. While it’s sometimes noticeable within the sleeve, the puff-sleeve cut makes it so you rarely have it against your skin.

It’s a substantial weight and very warm. Perfect for adding an extra layer for chilly days and lounging when you want to be cozy.

This one is a labour of love and a long-awaited item for our bag-lovers.

As with much of Stardust being a combination of function and form, the modular bag takes it to the next level.

Born out of desperation, the idea came while digging through uncompartmentalized totes. It’s 2025, everyone loves a good tote bag, but nobody loves digging through what Selina calls, “stuff soup”.

But sometimes you want the flexibility of a tote that can be folded and easily stored, rather than bringing your big, bulky handbag with you. And what if you stumble upon a must have item and you don’t know how to carry it home with you?

With the modular tote handbag, you can manage your space the way you like it. It comes with 4 short panels, that connect three options of center panels to the sides of the bag. When all short panels are used you have six equally sized compartments. Take out the short panels to expand your storage!

The bags also feature a side pocket for easy access, pen holders for your utensils or tools of choice, and a zipped center pocket you can use as a pencil case, makeup bag, or whatever other creative solution to your storage needs that you can think of.

And finally, the bags are made of 100% recycled polyester.

We're big advocates for organic materials at Carmico but this bag needed some qualities only synthetics could provide at a reasonable cost. It's water resistant, easy to clean, and provides a little extra structure that compliments the design intentions of the tote. Plus, it's shiny!

In-Stock Items

We allow in-stock items to be combined with pre-orders so that you can get the bigger items and save on shipping, rather than having to put in multiple orders. However, please prioritize pre-order items as we need to hit order minimums for production

Your entire order will ship once the pre-order items are available in late Q2-early Q3 2026. In-stock items do not ship early.

If you order in-stock items without pre-order items Your entire order will ship immediately.

Refunds

Think of this like a crowdfunding campaign similar to Kickstarter, except we’re hosting it on our own site. You’re here because you’re passionate about Carmico clothing and understand that, with supporting small businesses, some concessions must be made.

We are not Amazon or any other big corporation. Your refunds and cancellations are more than just a number on a year end report. They affect us magnitudes more than the big guys.

In order to make pre-orders work, we take the money you used to pay for your order and we use it to pay for our manufacturers to produce it. This means if you cancel your order, we have spent money on products that are no longer wanted. Finding new people here and there to pick up where you left off isn’t a big deal, but the reason we don’t allow refunds at all is that doing so opens us up to large-scale liability that could seriously damage our business.

If we let one person refund, we have to let everyone refund. So, in the spirit of fairness, original payment method refunds are not allowed for pre-orders. You may cancel for store credit, and you can exchange for other items or sizes while supplies last. This is all outlined in our refund policy.

Timeline

Our lead times are usually 3-4 months without contingencies. We always hope to under-promise and over-deliver, but factories will pause production through Chinese New Year, extending our timeline by at least one month.

We do not benefit from delays, so it’s in our best interest for timing estimates to be accurate. If you have any questions or concerns about the timeline, please consult us kindly. We’re more than happy to answer questions!

Policies

Please make sure you familiarize yourself with our policies.

Important things to note:

Pre-order returns are allowed for store credit only. You may exchange for anything in the store, including other preorder items that will be reserved for preorder customers until the restock goes live. 4-6 weeks after fulfillment is complete.

Orders shipping to anywhere outside of Canada and the US will be subject to your local import regulations and taxes. Make sure you understand the potential charges before making your purchase. If you deny the import or refuse to pay the customs fees, you will not be entitled to a refund of your shipping fee.

Providing accurate address information is solely your responsibility! Make sure you update your address before we fulfill your order. If you give us invalid address information for any reason and fail to update us before your order is shipped, we are not responsible for the fate of your package.

Risks

There are always challenges with pre-orders, but we like to be as transparent as possible. We’ve learned a lot from all of our pre-orders and hope that this one can go without a hitch.

We’ve run ten pre-orders before this one and handled a few crises in our five year tenure. In the worst possible case, we delivered the pre-order three months later than expected. Not so bad when you know the context (hint: it involved a cargo ransom).

Other more minor delays involved a system migration error and Black Friday fulfillment blackouts from our warehouse. The delays only lasted a few weeks, but we like to be transparent so you know what could happen, not that it will.

The rest of the seven delivered on time or early! If there are any delays during this pre-order, please be kind and patient. We promise we’ll do right by you in the end!

We've worked out a lot of the kinks but there is always room for error and unforeseen circumstances. Any unforeseen circumstances will be communicated via a blog post, email, and Discord channel updates as they come up.

Updates

We’ll always let you know when the next guaranteed update will be so you aren’t left hanging.

We will post updates on our blog, on our social platforms, and in our Discord at the beginning of every month. The updates won’t always be significant, but we want to keep you updated and let you know we haven’t forgotten about you.

In addition to guaranteed monthly updates, we will also post updates regarding major developments as they come up.
